83-Year-Old Killed At Oceanside Intersection

(North County Beat) – An 83-year-old pedestrian, Henry Broncy from Oceanside, passed away this week after being hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection, according to police reports.

Broncy was walking outside the marked crosswalk at Rancho Del Oro Drive and Via Rancho when the accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on July 29.

Oceanside police Sgt. Clint Bussey confirmed the incident in a news release. Broncy sustained major injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital. The police were notified of his death on Monday.

The driver who struck Broncy remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the police investigation.

Sgt. Bussey noted that there were no indications the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.
