(North County Beat) – Three suspects are behind bars facing murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in an Oceanside apartment last month.
Mason William Brant, 23, and Elijah Gabriel Marrero, 19, both from Vista, along with Bryan Lee Teater, 31, from Oceanside, were arrested Thursday for their alleged involvement in the death of 26-year-old Alex Hamilton, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on June 18, when a bullet pierced a bedroom window at a residential complex on the 1800 block of College Boulevard, striking Hamilton in the head.
Following the shooting, several occupants fled the apartment, while two others hid in a bathroom until police arrived, said Oceanside police spokesman Tom Bussey. Paramedics transported Hamilton to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to Lt. Bill Weese.
Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting or identified which suspect allegedly fired the fatal shot. Brant and Teater were already in custody on unrelated charges when they were linked to Hamilton’s death.
